International Guard Saki Hayashi (173-G-1995) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Fujitsu Red Wave and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24. The 28-year old guard had the game-high 20 points adding five rebounds and three assists for Fujitsu RW in her team's victory, helping them to beat Toyota BSR (#6, 13-11) 70-64. It allowed Fujitsu RW to jump to the first place in the Japanese WJBL. Fujitsu RW have a solid 21-3 record. In the team's last game Hayashi had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for her as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Saki Hayashi averages this season 11.3ppg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young center Jessica Wariebimo (188-C-2005) of Toyota Boshoku Sunshine Rabbits. Wariebimo impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 20 rebounds. Bad luck as Toyota BSR lost that game 64-70 to the higher-ranked Fujitsu RW (#1, 21-3). Toyota BSR managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 13-11 record is not bad and everything may still change. Wariebimo is a newcomer at Toyota BSR and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was international forward Ramu Tokashiki (193-F/C-1991) of second-ranked Eneos Sunflowers. Tokashiki scored 28 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Tokashiki's great performance the Eneos S. lost 80-81 to #3 ranked Denso I.. But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Eneos S. had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 3rd lost game is hopefully really an accident. Tokashiki's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Tokashiki has a great season in Japan. After 23 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.3ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 10.3rpg (2nd best). She also has 1.7bpg and a FGP of 69.8%.

Shiori Yasuma (161-PG-1994) of Toyota A. - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists 7. Sokhna Sylla (200-C-1997) of Toyota A. - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists 8. Akaho Himawari (185-SF-1998) of Denso I. - 13 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
