Japanese WJBL round 20 best performance: Sokhna Sylla

Senegalese Center Sokhna Sylla (200-C-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Toyota Antelopes, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 26-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, while her team beat Toyota BSR (#6, 12-8) 71-65. Toyota A. maintains the 2nd position in Japanese WJBL. Toyota A. has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 18-1. Sylla has many years of experience at Toyota A., through which she has constantly improved. Sokhna Sylla has solid league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 8.4rpg) and averages impressive 1.4bpg and 59.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Japanese center Mutya Mori (180-C-1988) of Aranmare Akita. Mori had a very good evening with a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Aranmare lost that game 61-71 to the lower-ranked Niigata R. (#13, 3-17). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Aranmare keeps 10th position. 15 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Aranmare managed to get this year. Mori is a newcomer at Aranmare and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-F-1993) of Fujitsu Red Wave (#4). Miyazawa scored 18 points. She was a key player of Fujitsu RW, leading her team to a 83-69 easy win against the lower-ranked Yamanashi QB (#14, 2-17). Fujitsu RW is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 17-3 record is not that bad... Miyazawa has a great season in Japan. After 20 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.0ppg (8th best).

9. Inoue Momoko (170-PG-1997) of Yamanashi QB - 11 points and 8 rebounds
10. Joshuana von Novon (190-C-1999) of Fujitsu RW - 7 points and 7 rebounds
