Yoshida's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

25-year old swingman Mai Yoshida (175-G/F-1998) had an amazing evening in the last round for Chanson V-Magic and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
She had a double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds, while her team crushed Yamanashi QB (#13, 2-13) with 18-point margin 79-61. Chanson V-M maintains the 5th position in Japanese WJBL. They are still close to the very top. Chanson V-M would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 12-3 record. In the team's last game Yoshida had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. She has many years of experience at Chanson V-M, through which she has constantly improved. Mai Yoshida averages this season 12.1ppg and 6.3rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Yumi Yano (180-C-1997) of BB Albirex Niigata Rabbits. She is a center in her 3rd season at Niigata R.. In the last game Yano recorded an impressive double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Niigata R. cruised to a 74-66 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Himeji E. (#11, 3-12). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Niigata R. is still at the dead bottom 14th position. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Niigata R. managed to get this year. Yano is one of the most experienced players at Niigata R. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Yuki Kato (179-PF-1997) of Toyota Boshoku Sunshine Rabbits (#6). Kato scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. She was a key player of Toyota BSR, leading her team to a 75-59 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Hitachi Cougars (#8, 6-9). Toyota BSR needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 6 lost games. Kato has a very solid season. In 15 games in Japan she scored 2.8ppg.
