Bottom-ranked Niigata R. managed to get a second victory, breaking the seven-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against eleventh-ranked Himeji E. 74-66. Niigata R. outrebounded Himeji E. 48-36 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Niigata R. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Center Yumi Yano (180-1997) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks for the winners. point guard Yukina Sakata (163-1996) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Maho Endo (172-2000) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Niigata R. maintains fourteenth position with 2-14 record. Himeji E. at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Aranmare. Niigata R. are looking forward to face higher ranked Chanson V-M (#5) in Shizuoka in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Himeji E. will play on the road against Eneos S. (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
Undefeated leader Toyota A. delivered the fifteenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Mitsubishi K. (4-12) 79-58 in Nagoya. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Kiho Miyashita (178-1998) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Shiori Yasuma contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international Aya Watanabe (168-1992) replied with 18 points for Mitsubishi K.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Toyota A. (15-0) have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 15 victories in a row. Mitsubishi K. lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Hitachinaka was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Toyota BSR (10-6) played at the court of 8th ranked Hitachi Cougars (6-9). Toyota BSR defeated Hitachi Cougars 75-59 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of Yuki Kato who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Ririka Okuyama responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota BSR maintains sixth position with 10-6 record. Loser Hitachi Cougars dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Aishin AW. Toyota BSR will meet at home Aishin AW (#7) in the next round. Hitachi Cougars will play against Haneda V. and hope to secure a win.

Toyota BSR dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi Cougars' 24. Toyota BSR forced 19 Hitachi Cougars turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Toyota BSR made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Yuki Kato (179-1997) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Miyuki Kawamura (185-1994) who added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Mai Yoshida (175-1998) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Kuke Haruka (166-1995) who added 18 points and 4 steals during the contest. Strangely Aranmare outrebounded Fujitsu RW 50-33 including a 25-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Fujimoto Aki (182-1998) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-1993, college: Queens, NY) who added 10 points and 7 rebounds during the contest.
