Japanese WJBL round 11 best performance: Joshuana von Novon (by Hoops Agents)

Nigerian Center Joshuana von Novon (190-C-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for Fujitsu Red Wave, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, while her team beat Eneos S. (10-2) 86-72. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Fujitsu RW moved-up to the 3rd position in Japanese WJBL. They are still close to the very top. Fujitsu RW would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 10-2 record. It's von Novon's second year at Fujitsu RW and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Joshuana von Novon has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (4th best: 15.1ppg), rebounds (6th best: 7.2rpg) and averages impressive 1.5bpg and 61.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Nigerian center Izoje Uche (188-C-2004) of Chanson V-Magic. Uche had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Of course she led Chanson V-M to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Himeji E. (#12, 2-9) 97-66. Chanson V-M's 5th position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But 8-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Uche is well-known at Chanson V-M and is a proven leader in her second season with the team. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.1ppg (#2). She also registered 13.8 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Fujitsu RW's star - international guard Rui Machida (162-PG-1993). Machida scored 16 points and passed thirteen assists (!!!). She was another key player of Fujitsu Red Wave, helping her team with a 86-72 easy win against #4 ranked Eneos S. in a game of the week. Fujitsu RW is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 10-2 record is not that bad... Machida has a great season in Japan. After 12 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 7.9apg (best passer).

10. Shiori Yasuma (161-PG-1994) of Toyota A. - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
