WJBL Round 11 (Regular Season): Eneos S. lose to Fujitsu RW in the game between Top 4 teams

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kawasaki. Third ranked host Fujitsu RW (10-1) defeated second-ranked Eneos S. (9-2) 86-72. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a great shooting night for Fujitsu RW especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Nigerian center Joshuana von Novon (190-1999) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Rui Machida (162-1993) helped adding 16 points, 13 assists and 5 steals. The former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (193-1991) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Fujitsu RW moved-up to second place. Defending champion Eneos S. dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Fujitsu RW are again looking forward to face Eneos S. (#4) in Kashiwa in the next round. Eneos S. will have a break next round.
WJBL top team - Toyota A. (10-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Haneda V. (2-9) in Nagoya 84-53. It was a quality performance for the former international point guard Shiori Yasuma (161-1994) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Kiho Miyashita accounted for 12 points and 6 steals. Guard Yuriko Tsumura (172-1995) came up with 12 points for Haneda V. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Toyota A. have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. Haneda V. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Toyota A. will again play against Haneda V. (#13) in Tokyo in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Haneda V. will have a break next round.
14th ranked Niigata R. (1-10) was outscored at home by fourth ranked Denso I. (9-1) with the biggest margin this round 98-43 on Saturday night. The best player for the winners was Maki Takada who scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Miyu Kawamura produced 10 points for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denso I. moved-up to third place. Niigata R. lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Denso I. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata R. will play again against Denso I. (#3) and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 11: Hitachi Cougars won against Yamanashi QB on the opponent's court 87-71. Toyota BSR outscored Aranmare A. in a home game 63-42. Mitsubishi K. was rolled over Aishin AW on the road 65-43. Himeji E. was crushed by Chanson V-M on its own court 66-97.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 18 points and 10 rebounds by Izoje Uche of Chanson V-M.

Yamanashi QB - Hitachi Cougars 71-87

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Yamanashi QB (2-8) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Hitachi Cougars (4-6) 87-71 on Saturday. Hitachi Cougars outrebounded Yamanashi QB 44-32 including a 24-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hitachi Cougars looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Honoka Morioka (172-2004) who scored 14 points. Swingman Shirashi Ikuri (172-1994) chipped in 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hitachi Cougars players scored in double figures. Indian center Anmolpreet Kaur (185-1999) produced 11 points and 6 rebounds and Airi Tomita (183-1997) added 9 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hitachi Cougars. They maintain eighth place with 4-6 record. Yamanashi QB lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Himeji E.. Hitachi Cougars will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yamanashi QB will play again against Hitachi Cougars (#8) and hope to secure a win.

The best player for the winners was Yuki Kitamura (173-1994) who scored 19 points and 4 assists. The former international center Miyuki Kawamura (185-1994) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Chihiro Sato (168-1997) produced 5 points and 5 rebounds and center Niang Kumba (190-1999) added 3 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests.
