Japanese B3 League round 30 best performance: Kyle Richardson (by Hoops Agents)- January 23, 2022
POSTED BY: Eurobasket News
The 30-year old player was the main contributor (36 points, seven rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Kanazawa (#15, 0-28), the league's bottom-ranked team 93-80. Iwate is placed at 3rd position in Japanese B3 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Iwate will need more victories to improve their 20-10 record. In the team's last game Richardson had a remarkable 72.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Iwate's top player in his first season with the team. Former Portland State University star has very solid stats this year. Richardson is in league's top in points (3rd best: 22.3ppg), rebounds (6th best: 11.2rpg) and averages impressive 56.7% FGP. The second best player in last round's games was 29-year old American Jalen Billups (200-F/C-92, agency: BIG) of Toyoda. Billups had a very good evening with a double-double of 46 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Toyoda lost that game 93-104 to slightly higher-ranked Yamaguchi (#12, 10-20). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Toyoda keeps 13th position. 22 lost games are too many comparing to just six victories Toyoda managed to get this year. Billups is a newcomer at Toyoda, but is already one of team's top players. Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Robert Sampson (203-F-92) of Yamaguchi (#12). Sampson showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Yamaguchi, leading his team to a 104-93 win against slightly lower-ranked Toyoda (#13, 6-22). Sampson has individually a great season in Japan. After 30 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.3rpg (4th best). He also has 1.8bpg and FGP: 55.2%. Sampson attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Other top performing players last week: 4. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
