He attended De Paul University until 2008 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball. Burns is quite experienced player. He has played in four different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Burns has played previously professionally also in Germany (Uni Baskets), Iceland (Keflavik), Israel (Ironi Kiryat Ata and Elitzur Yavne) and Japan (Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa and Yokohama B-Corsairs). The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Burns won Japanese B League D2 championship title in 2017. He was selected to Japanese BJ-League All-Star Game back in 2013 and 2015.
