The most exciting game of round 6 in the B League D3 took place in Gifu. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 6th ranked Gifu Swoops (3-7) to third ranked Tokyo Cinq R. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin-Qatari forward Alen Hadzibegovic (209-99) with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Gifu Swoops' coach Kazuo Kusumoto rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tokyo Cinq R. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Gifu Swoops dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Kagoshima and Saitama Bron.. Tokyo Cinq R. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gifu Swoops will play at home against the league's leader Tokyo Excel. Important game to mention about took place in Saitama. Seventh ranked Kagoshima (3-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Saitama Broncos (3-7) 87-84 on Wednesday evening. American forward Shelton Boykin (198-92, college: Angelo St.) notched 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Gjio Bain supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 18 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists by American Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) did not help to save the game for Saitama Broncos. Kagoshima moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gifu Swoops and Saitama Bron. Saitama Broncos lost fourth consecutive game. Kagoshima will play against higher ranked Iwate Big Bulls (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
