Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The biggest surprise of round 4 in B League D3 was guest Koshigaya A.'s (#2) easy road victory over Gifu Swoops (#6) 93-64 on Saturday evening. Koshigaya A. dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Gifu Swoops' 34. They outrebounded Gifu Swoops 41-29 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Koshigaya A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. The other American import Luke Evans (203-91, college: CBU) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). point guard Ito Ryota (178-92) produced 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Koshigaya A. maintains second position with 4-4 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Tokyo Excel., which they share with Tokyo Cinq R. Newly promoted Gifu Swoops keep the sixth place with five games lost. Koshigaya A. is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Kagoshima (#7) in Renova in the next round where they are favorite. Gifu Swoops will have a break next round.

Jordan Faison contributed with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Tokyo Excel.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Shelton Boykin (198-92, college: Angelo St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists for Kagoshima. Undefeated Tokyo Excel. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Kagoshima lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with five games lost. Tokyo Excel. will play against Saitama Broncos (#4) at home in the next round. Kagoshima will play against the league's second-placed Koshigaya A. to get more than just one victory in their record.

Saitama Broncos' coach Samir StClair used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Saitama Broncos moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Iwate Big Bulls. Tokyo Cinq R. at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. Saitama Broncos' next round opponent will be league's leader Tokyo Excel. on the road and it may be the game of the week. Tokyo Cinq R. will play against Iwate Big Bulls and hope to win that game.

They stay at the bottom place with five games lost. Tokyo Excel. will face Saitama Broncos (#4) at home in the next round. Kagoshima will play against the league's second-placed Koshigaya A. and hope to win that game.

In the last game of round 4 Tokyo Cinq R. defeated Saitama Bron. in a road game 88-84.

Point guard Atomu Yamada (179-98) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists. Four Tokyo Cinq R. players scored in double figures. Tokyo Cinq R.'s coach Kyoichi Sugawara used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American center Antone Warren (208-93, college: Antelope Valley CC) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) added 9 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Shiga Lakestars (B League) added to their roster 26-year old guard Hiroki Taniguchi (187-92). He has played for the last six seasons at Kawasaki Brave Thunders. But in 30 B League games he recorded just 1.8ppg last season. Taniguchi helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in B League Central Division. SHOU NISBET Earthfriends Tokyo Z (B2 League) signed 21-year old New Zealander guard Shou Nisbet (196-97, college: Southeast CC). He played last season at Shiga L-Stars in the B League. B League was a little too high level for him, where in 20 games he had just 1.2ppg and 1.4rpg. B2 League will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time.
