CHEHALES TAPSCOTT

American Chehales Tapscott (195-F-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Kumamoto V. and that's him to receive a Interperformances B2 League Player of the Week award for round 57.
The 28-year old forward had the game-high 38 points adding eight rebounds and nine assists for Kumamoto V. in his team's victory, helping them to beat Kagawa FA (#6, 18-39) 88-81. It allowed Kumamoto V. to consolidate first place in the Japanese B2 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kumamoto V. has a very solid 42-15 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Tapscott had a remarkable 81.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Kumamoto V.'s top player in his first season with the team. Portland State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Tapscott is in league's top in points (5th best: 23.6ppg) and averages solid 56.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 29-year old American center Will Creekmore (205-C-89) of Yamagata. Creekmore impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 33 points and 10 assists. Of course Yamagata cruised to a 101-89 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Fukushima (#4, 24-33). Yamagata's 5th position in East has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 21-36 record. Creekmore is one of the most experienced players at Yamagata and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Sotaro Uehara (170-PG-94) of Nishinomiya S. (#3). Uehara showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, fifteen rebounds (!!!) and seven assists in the last round. He was a key player of Nishinomiya S., leading his team to a 95-73 easy win against the lower-ranked Tokyo HT (#6, 11-47). Nishinomiya S. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Central. Their record at this point is 32 victories and 26 lost games. Uehara has a very solid season. In 28 games in Japan he scored 11.5ppg. He also has 5.3rpg and FGP: 65.1%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Draelon Burns (194-G-85) of Nishinomiya S. - 17 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists
5. Jahmar Thorpe (198-F-84) of Tokyo Z - 27 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Gary Hamilton (208-C/F-84) of Bambitious Nara - 14 points, 21 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Denzel Bowles (208-F/C-89) of Kanazawa Sam. - 23 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Rosco Allen (208-PF-93) of Shimane SM - 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Jordan Richard (206-C-89) of Tokyo HT - 18 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Gregory Echenique (206-C-90) of Shimane SM - 25 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over.
