American Power forward Kyle Richardson (201-PF-91) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Koshigaya A., receiving a Interperformances B League D3 Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 38 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed Kagoshima (#8, 6-10) with 40-point margin 112-72. Koshigaya A. maintains the 2nd position in Japanese B League D3. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Koshigaya A. will need more victories to improve their 12-4 record. In the team's last game Richardson had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Koshigaya A. and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former Portland State University star has very solid stats this year. Richardson is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.1ppg), rebounds (7th best: 10.7rpg) and averages impressive 64.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Brian Voelkel (196-PF-92) of Toyoda Gosei. Voelkel had a very good evening with a triple-double of 25 points, 23 rebounds and 11 assists. It was enough for Toyoda Gosei to edge Tokyo Big Blue (#10, 0-16) 97-93. Toyoda Gosei's 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 12-4 record is not bad at all. Voelkel is a newcomer at Toyoda Gosei, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Jordan Faison (201-F-94) of league's top team Tokyo Excel.. Faison got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds and six assists. He was a key player of Tokyo Excel., leading his team to a 101-94 win against the lower-ranked Saitama Bron. (#6, 7-9). Many experts and fans count Tokyo Excel. as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 15 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Faison has a great season in Japan. After 28 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.0ppg (4th best) and assists with 4.3apg (7th best). He also has 1.7bpg and FGP: 61.9%.

SHOU NISBET Earthfriends Tokyo Z (B2 League) signed 21-year old New Zealander guard Shou Nisbet (196-97, college: Southeast CC). He played last season at Shiga L-Stars in the B League. B League was a little too high level for him, where in 20 games he had just 1.2ppg and 1.4rpg. B2 League will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time.
