MARKEITH CUMMINGS

American Markeith Cummings (198-SF-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Nagoya DD and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 30-year old had the game-high 29 points adding seven rebounds and five assists for Nagoya DD in his team's victory, helping them to crush Akita NH (#5, 4-11) with 25-point margin 79-54. It allowed Nagoya DD to jump to the first place in the Japanese B League. Nagoya DD have a solid 12-3 record. In the team's last game Cummings had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Nagoya DD's top player in his first season with the team. Kennesaw State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Cummings is in league's top in points (2nd best: 23.9ppg) and averages solid 57.6% FGP and 43.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American center Joshua Smith (208-C-92) of Toyama Grouses. Smith impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he led Toyama Grouses to another comfortable win 85-72 over slightly lower-ranked Shiga L-Stars (#5, 3-12) being unquestionably team leader. Toyama Grouses' 3rd position in Central has not changed. His team's 9-6 record is not bad at all. Smith is a newcomer at Toyama Grouses and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Canadian Robert Sacre (213-C-89) of Hitachi SR (#4). Sacre got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . He was a key player of Hitachi SR, leading his team to a 81-79 win against #4 ranked SeaHorses in a game of the week. The chances of Hitachi SR not to end season at such low position in Central, however are less than slim as they have already lost 10 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Sacre could try to bring Hitachi SR's a little bit higher in the standings. Sacre has a very solid season. In 15 games in Japan he scored 17.7ppg. He also has 8.1rpg, 1.1bpg and FGP: 55.2%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dexter Pittman (208-C-88) of Fukuoka Rizing - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Nick Fazekas (211-F/C-85) of Kawasaki BT - 27 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Ryan Kelly (211-PF-91) of Hitachi SR - 18 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists
7. David Simon (208-C-82) of Kyoto Hannar. - 28 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Davante Gardner (203-PF-91) of Niigata Albirex - 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
