There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game of round 12 in the B League took place in Osaka. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th ranked Osaka Evessa (4-8) to third ranked Toshiba Thunders (7-5) 83-80 on Sunday evening. It was a great shooting night for Toshiba Thunders especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. The former international point guard Yuma Fujii (178-91) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds. Toshiba Thunders have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Osaka Evessa lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with San-en and Hokkaido L.. Toshiba Thunders is looking forward to face Toyama Grouses (#4) on the road in the next round. Osaka Evessa will play against Kyoto Hannar. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Toyama Grouses (7-5) against fourth ranked Aishin Sea Horses (7-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Toyama Grouses were crushed by Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya 91-72. It was a good game for the former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!). James Southerland contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Aishin Sea Horses' coach Kimikazu Suzuki allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for Toyama Grouses. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Toyama Grouses. Aishin Sea Horses will play against league's leader Niigata Albirex on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyama Grouses will play against Toshiba Thunders and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Akita. Second ranked Diamond Dolphins faced 4th ranked Akita Happinets. Guests from Nagoya (10-2) defeated host Akita Happinets (3-9) 84-68. Worth to mention a great performance of Shuto Ando who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was Justin Keenan with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diamond Dolphins have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Akita Happinets lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Shiga L-Stars and Yokohama BC. Diamond Dolphins will meet at home Shiga L-Stars (#5) in the next round. Akita Happinets will play against Toyota Alvark in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best player for the winners was Michael Parker who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chiba Jets (10-2) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position, which they share with 3 other teams. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the sixth place with ten games lost. Chiba Jets will face league's second-placed Tochigi Brex on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against Hokkaido L. (#4) in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 12 Hokkaido L. defeated San-en in Saporro 88-75. Tochigi Brex smashed Shiga L-Stars at home 98-61.



Yokohama BC - Niigata Albirex 63-87

Leader Niigata Albirex delivered the eighth victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Yokohama BC (3-9) 87-63. Niigata Albirex dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Yokohama BC's 32. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The winners were led by American Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and the other American import power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) supported him with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Even 15 points and 6 assists by the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) did not help to save the game for Yokohama BC. Point guard Masashi Hosoya (173-89) added 15 points and 4 assists. There was a minor upset in Hamamatsu where 5th ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (4-8) was defeated by fifth ranked Hokkaido L. (4-8) 88-75 on Sunday. Hokkaido L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish center David Doblas (206-81) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) chipped in 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). At the other side the best for losing team was American forward William McDonald (206-79, college: Grambling St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hokkaido L. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with San-en and Osaka Evessa. B League Round 17: Ryukyu GK keeps a leadership position - 2 hours ago
There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ryukyu GK as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Ryukyu GK defeated 3rd placed Toyota Alvark in Okinawa 71-56.
