WAYNE MARSHALL

Experienced American Wayne Marshall (211-C-86) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Shinshu BW and that's him to receive a Interperformances B2 League Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 32-year old center had the game-high 30 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Shinshu BW in his team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team Aomori Watts (#6, 0-4) with 23-point margin 97-74. It allowed Shinshu BW to consolidate first place in the Japanese B2 League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Shinshu BW already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Marshall had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Shinshu BW's top player in his first season with the team. Temple University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Marshall is in league's top in points (5th best: 23.8ppg) and averages solid 2.3bpg,2.3spg,63.0% FGP and 46.7% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old American Andrew Fitzgerald (202-C/F-90) of Ehime OV. Fitzgerald impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Ehime OV lost that game 75-80 to the higher-ranked Kumamoto V. (#3, 3-1). Ehime OV managed to keep the same 6th spot in West. 4 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Fitzgerald is a newcomer at Ehime OV and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.5ppg (#6). He also registered 8.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Gyno Pomare (203-F-86) of second-ranked Shimane SM. Pomare scored 29 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Shimane SM, leading his team to a 73-68 win against the lower-ranked Yamagata (#5, 1-3). Shimane SM needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in West. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Pomare has a very solid season. In 3 games in Japan he scored 21.7ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Anthony McHenry (202-SF-83) of Shinshu BW - 23 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Cullen Russo (206-F-94) of Aomori Watts - 35 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Terrance Woodbury (201-G-87) of Kagawa FA - 22 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Garrett Stutz (214-C-90) of Toyotsu FE - 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Gregory Echenique (206-C-90) of Shimane SM - 21 points, 18 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Yoshihiko Toshino (186-SG-92) of Kumamoto V. - 31 points and 4 rebounds
10. Connor Lammert (206-F-94) of Cyberdyne IR - 15 points and 16 rebounds

SHOU NISBET Earthfriends Tokyo Z (B2 League) signed 21-year old New Zealander guard Shou Nisbet (196-97, college: Southeast CC). He played last season at Shiga L-Stars in the B League. B League was a little too high level for him, where in 20 games he had just 1.2ppg and 1.4rpg. B2 League will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time.
