Joshua
Crawford
American Joshua Crawford (211-C-88) put on an amazing game in the last round for Saitama Bron. and that's him to receive a Interperformances B League D3 Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 30-year old center had a double-double of 28 points and sixteen rebounds, while his team beat Iwate Big Bulls (2-2) 100-92. Saitama Bron. is placed at 3rd position in Japanese B League D3. Saitama Bron. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Crawford had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be Saitama Bron.'s top player in his first season with the team. Indiana State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Crawford is in league's top in points (6th best: 18.5ppg), rebounds (9th best: 10.3rpg) and averages solid 63.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 38-year old American power forward Bingo Merriex (206-PF-80) of Gifu Swoops. Merriex impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds. Of course Gifu Swoops cruised to a 80-68 relatively comfortable win over Kagoshima (0-4). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Merriex is a newcomer at Gifu Swoops and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Gifu Swoops' star - Canadian Michael Allison (206-C-90). Allison scored 26 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Gifu Swoops, helping his team with a 80-68 win against Kagoshima (#10, 0-4). Gifu Swoops needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Allison has a great season in Japan. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.3rpg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Gjio Bain (211-C-85) of Iwate Big Bulls - 19 points and 12 rebounds
5. Josh Peppers (201-PF-85) of Koshigaya A. - 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Masaya Ueda (177-SG-93) of Saitama Bron. - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Joe Wolfinger (216-C-85) of Tokyo Cinq R. - 20 points and 12 rebounds
8. Kyle Richardson (201-PF-91) of Koshigaya A. - 19 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Darnell Martin (198-PF-91) of Saitama Bron. - 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over.
