McHenry re-signs at Shinshu Brave Warriors Nagano - Aug 9, 2018

  follow us on Facebook Twitter

Shinshu Brave Warriors Nagano (B2 League) confirmed in their roster experienced 35-year old American small forward Anthony McHenry (202-101kg-83, college: Georgia Tech). He played there last season. In 57 B2 League games he had 13.6ppg, 8.5rpg, 3.8apg, 1.4spg and 1.2bpg. A very impressive season as he was named to All-Japanese B League D2 Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week.
The previous (16-17) season McHenry played at Ryukyu (B League) where in 62 games he recorded 7.9ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.7apg and 1.0bpg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in B League West Division. Quite impressive season as he was named to Japanese B League All-Star Game.
In 2006 (a year after he left the college) McHenry was drafted by Fort Worth Flyers (D-League) in seventh round (76th overall).
He attended Georgia Tech until 2005 and it will be his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others McHenry won Japanese BJ League Western Division championship title in 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2016. He was also voted All-Japanese BJ League 1st Team back in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
McHenry has played previously professionally in United Kingdom and D-League (Ft.Worth F.).
It's very possible he may end his playing career at Shinshu Brave Warriors Nagano.
McHenry could be described: He is capable of defending four positions, and can handle the ball well.
Versatile player whose lanky build and long arms are big assets on the defensive end, where he has made his most important contributions for the team
