SeaHorses - Tochigi Brex 77-63

SeaHorses held off Tochigi Brex in the opener. Aishin Sea Horses made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winning side and the former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) accounted for 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) came up with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Tochigi Brex in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Chiba Jets knocked down Toshiba BT to take the lead. Chiba Jets shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American players dominated the game. Power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) fired 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Toyota Alvark made 8 blocks. It was a very good performance for American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Diamond Dolphins' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. International forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87) added 18 points in the effort for Ryukyu GK.
