Ferrakohn
Hall
American Forward Ferrakohn Hall (203-F-90) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Saitama Bron., receiving a Asia-basket.com B League D3 Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 20 rebounds, while his team outclassed Tokyo Cinq R. (#8, 1-5) with 30-point margin 104-74. Saitama Bron. maintains the 2nd position in Japanese B League D3. They are still close to the very top. Saitama Bron. would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. Hall turned to be Saitama Bron.'s top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Memphis star has very solid stats this year. Hall is in league's top in points (7th best: 17.3ppg) and averages impressive 52.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Kyle Richardson (201-F-91) of Otsuka A.. Richardson had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Otsuka A. to another comfortable win 79-60 over the lower-ranked Aisin AW (#7, 1-3) being unquestionably team leader. Otsuka A.'s 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 4-2 record is not bad at all. Richardson is a newcomer at Otsuka A., but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.4ppg (#4). He also registered 12.8 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Patrick Simon (203-F-92) of Toyoda Gosei (#4). Simon got into 30-points club by scoring 36 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds . He was a key player of Toyoda Gosei, leading his team to a 84-64 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Kagoshima (#6, 2-4). Toyoda Gosei needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Simon has a very solid season. In 6 games in Japan he scored 27.5ppg. He also has 10.3rpg and FGP: 54.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Nishi Yutaro (176-PG-92) of Saitama Bron. - 34 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Chris Olivier (203-F-92) of Kagoshima - 28 points and 11 rebounds
6. Ray Raymond (203-F-84) of Otsuka A. - 22 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Drew Martin (203-F-94) of Tokyo Cinq R. - 26 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Darnell Martin (198-F-91) of Kagoshima - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Yasudo Yamada (179-PG-98) of Kagoshima - 21 points and 4 rebounds
10. Andre Murray (188-G-87) of Tokyo Cinq R. - 23 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Kataoka is back at Sendai 89ers - 17 days ago
Sendai 89ers (B2 League) agreed terms with 33-year old guard Masaharu Kataoka (190-85). It is actually his comeback to Sendai as he has played here before. Kataoka already started the season at Kyoto Hannaryz in the B League. In 55 games he had 6.2ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.4apg last season.
