Robert Sacre
Hitachi SunRockers Tokyo-Shibuya (B League) inked 28-year old Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-118kg-89, college: Gonzaga). He played recently at New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA.
In 2012 Sacre was drafted by Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) in second round (60th overall). The former Gonzaga University staris in his fifth season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements Sacre played in the final of WCC Tournament in 2008, 2010 and 2012. He received also All-WCC Defensive Player of the Year award back in 2012 at his college time.
Sacre was also a member of Canadian international program for some years. He played for Canadian Senior National Team between 2009 and 2015 and previously for U18 National Team in 2006.
Sacre represented Canada at the FIBA Americas in Mexico two years ago. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 7 games: 4.1ppg, 2.1rpg.
Sacre has played previously professionally in NBA (LA Lakers) and D-League (Los Angeles D-Fenders).
His game is described as: Known for his shot-blocking at Gonzaga, this seven footer is a very good defender and has team mentality. Plus, he brings scoring, energy and the right "chemistry" to his team. He often plays small, not using his size and strength advantages to bully opponents … Lacks length. Arms appear to be very short for his height ... Not a great leaper; doesn't explode off the floor.
