Scootie
Randall
American Scootie Randall (198-F-90) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Iwate Big Bulls and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com BJ League Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 27 points and eleven rebounds, while his team outclassed Bambitious Nara (#8, 2-5) with 26-point margin 89-63. It allowed Iwate Big Bulls to consolidate first place in the Japanese BJ League. Iwate Big Bulls has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 10-1. In the team's last game Randall had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Iwate Big Bulls and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Temple University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Randall is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.7ppg. Randall is in league's top in and averages solid 54.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old American Gary Hamilton (208-C/F-84, agency: KMG Sports Management) of Osaka Evessa. Hamilton impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds. Of course Osaka Evessa cruised to a 82-74 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Niigata Albirex (#4, 8-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Osaka Evessa consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. His team's 7-4 record is not bad at all. Hamilton is a newcomer at Osaka Evessa and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was another Iwate Big Bulls' star - American Lawrence Blackledge (206-F-86). Blackledge scored 23 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Iwate Big Bulls, helping his team with a 89-63 easy win against the lower-ranked Bambitious Nara (#8, 2-5). Many experts and fans count Iwate Big Bulls as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 10 victories and only one lost games. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Blackledge has a great season in Japan. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.6rpg (7th best). He also has 2.1spg and 1.8bpg. Blackledge attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Richard Roby (198-G/F-85) of Akita NH - 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Stephan Van Treese (206-F-90) of Niigata Albirex - 12 points, 18 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Justin Watts (196-G/F-90) of Takamatsu FA - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
