Toshiba Brave Thunders are crowned NBL champions! - May 24, 2014

Toshiba BT - Wakayama T. 78-61

Toshiba are the new NBL champions. The Brave Thunders handed the third straight defeat to Wakayama Trians today and swept the title series. The game was mostly controlled by Toshiba Thunders. Wakayama T. managed to win fourth quarter 26-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Wakayama T. to just 4 points in first quarter. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. International swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) helped adding 20 points. Toshiba Thunders' coach Takuya Kita used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international center Fumihiko Aono (210-78) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) scored 16 points.
