Eneos Sunflowers claim Empress’s Cup-Jan 14, 2026
Eneos Sunflowers are 2026 Empress’s Cup winners. They overcame Denso Iris 76-62 to claim the trophy. Evelyn Mawuli (180-C/F-1995) was named the MVP. She finished with game-high 23 points to pace the winners. Ashten Prechtel (196-F/C-2001, college: Stanford) came up with 17 points and 11 rebounds to assist in the victory
Eneos grabbed a 40-28 halftime lead. Denso Iris held their opponents to just 6 points in the third term to tie things up at 46 heading into the fourth frame. But Eneos Sunflowers unloaded 30 points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Haruna Kasagi (167-PG-1999) tossed in 14 points, while Norika Konno (179-G-2000, college: Louisville) added 11 points in the loss.
