Shumpert re-signs at Ghaz Al-Shamal

Chelsey Shumpert

Ghaz Al-Shamal (1 League) confirmed in their roster 30-year old American guard Chelsey Shumpert (165cm-1995, college: Union, TN) for the upcoming 2026 season. She joins another USA player Brittany Hodges who is already on the team. Shumpert played there last season.
She is a very experienced player, having played in five different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America). Shumpert has played professionally in Iceland (Breidablik), Ireland (Glanmire), Syria (Al Thawra), the United Kingdom (Wildcats), and Mozambique (Clube Ferroviaro da Maputo).
She won the Iraqi League championship title in 2024.
Shumpert graduated from Union University in 2018 and is entering her ninth season as a professional player. She also played for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for 4 years.
