Deandre Liggins (ex Al Ahli) is a newcomer at Dijlah

Deandre Liggins

Dijlah University (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 36-year old USA ex-international forward Deandre Liggins (198cm-95kg-1988, college: Kentucky). He has played for the last two years at Al Ahli in Saudi Arabian SBL league. In 22 games he recorded 13.2ppg, 7.0rpg, 4.1apg and 1.5spg last season. He helped them to make it to the Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Fahed Cup Semifinals. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL Honorable Mention. Liggins also played 6 games in West Asia Super League where he averaged impressive 17.3ppg, 6.2rpg, 5.0apg and 1.2spg.
In 2011 he was drafted by Orlando Magic (NBA) in second round (53rd overall). He graduated from University of Kentucky and it will be his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball. Liggins was a member of USA Senior National Team back in 2018.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in twelve different countries. Liggins has played previously professionally in Germany (Eisbaeren Bremerhaven), Greece (Panionios and Kolossos H Hotels Rodou), Mexico (Libertadores), Russia (Krasny Oktyabr), Spain (Fuenlabrada), Taiwan (Kings), United Kingdom (Lions), Uruguay (Penarol), NBA (New Orleans Pelicans, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets), NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce) and The Basketball Tournament (Heartfire).
Among many awards he won Saudi Arabia League championship title in 2023. He was selected to Eurobasket.com British BBL All-Defensive Team back in 2021.
It's very possible he may end his playing career at Dijlah.
