The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Al-Difaa (12-2) in Baghdad on Wednesday night. Visitors were edged by second ranked Al Naft (11-3) 76-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Al-Difaa. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Al Naft have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 11-3 record behind leader Al-Difaa. Newly promoted Al-Difaa still keeps top position with two games lost.
Sixth-ranked Al Kahraba (5-8) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Al Karkh (9-4). Al Karkh managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected easier game. Al-Hashd was crushed at home by 19 points 83-102 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Al Shurtah have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-3 record having five points less than leader Al-Difaa. Loser Al-Hashd keeps the eighth position with ten games lost.

In the last game of round 19 Dijlah destroyed Ghaz Al-Shamal on the opponent's court 97-64.




Al-Hashd - Al Shurtah 83-102

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Baghdad: Al Shurtah (#3) and Al-Hashd (#8). Al-Hashd was crushed at home by 19 points 83-102 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Al Shurtah have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-3 record having five points less than leader Al-Difaa. Loser Al-Hashd keeps the eighth position with ten games lost.

Very expected game in Kirku where 10th ranked Ghaz Al-Shamal (3-13) was crushed by fifth ranked Dijlah (8-4) 97-64 on Wednesday. Dijlah have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 8-4 record. Ghaz Al-Shamal lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost.
