Superleague Round 14: Al Shorta keep a leadership position

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Al Karkh (6-8) against sixth ranked Nift Al-Shamal (6-9) on Friday night. Host Al Karkh was crushed by Nift Al-Shamal in Al Karkh 83-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Karkh. Nift Al-Shamal moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Al Kahraba. Newly promoted Al Karkh keeps the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Ghaz Al-Shamal. Nift Al-Shamal will play against league's second-placed Zakho at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Al Karkh will have a break next round.

Al Kahraba at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Nift Al-Shamal. Zakho will meet league's leader Al Naft in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al Kahraba will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 14 Al Hilla lost to Dijlah on the opponent's court 87-97. Al Hilla unfortunately lost to Al-Tadamoun in a home game 72-82.
