Air Defence Sporting Club tabs Mikhail Berishvili, ex TSU

Newly promoted Air Defence Sporting Club (Superleague) inked experienced 34-year-old Georgian international 204cm forward Mikhail Berishvili for the upcoming season. Berishvili played most recently at Tbilisi State University in the Georgian Superleague. In 27 games he averaged 10.0ppg, 5.9rpg, 3.3apg, and 1.3spg last season. He helped them to end the regular season as the second-best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Georgian League Honorable Mention. The last season he played at Al Shamal in Qatari QBL where in 13 games he had very impressive stats: 19.8ppg, 8.4rpg, 3.2apg, and 1.2spg in the 2020-2021 season. Berishvili contributed to his team making it to both league and Cup finals. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Honorable Mention.

In 2008 he was drafted by Tulsa 66ers (D-League) in the fifth round (65th overall).

He has been also a member of the Georgian international program for some years. Berishvili has regularly played for the Georgian senior team since 2014 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2007.

He represented Georgia at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) five years ago.

Berishvili is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and of course North America). Berishvili has played previously professionally in Russia, Slovenia (Zlatorog), Spain (Prat and Aridane), and NBA G League (OKC Blue).
