Superleague Round 28: No surprise as #1 Al Naft defeat Nift Al-Basra- March 14, 2022
There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Superleague. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Al-Semawah - Zakho 63-69 Very expected game when 11th ranked Al-Semawah (2-17) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Zakho (11-9) 69-63 on Friday. Zakho moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al-Hashd. Al-Semawah lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Zakho will meet Al-Hashd (#4) in the next round. Al-Semawah will have a break next round. Al Kahraba - Al-Hashd 67-58 An interesting game took place in Baghdad where higher ranked Al-Hashd (11-9) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Al Kahraba (8-11) 67-58. Al Kahraba maintains tenth position with 8-11 record. Al-Hashd at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Zakho. Al Kahraba's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Baghdad to the arena Al Shorta. Al-Jameaa - Al-Tadamoun 95-72 Second ranked Al-Jameaa (15-5) crushed at home 7th ranked Al-Tadamoun (9-12) by 23 points 95-72, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. Al-Jameaa have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-5 record having seven points less than leader Al Naft. Loser Al-Tadamoun dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost. Al-Jameaa will meet at home league's leader Al Naft in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al-Tadamoun will play against Nift Al-Shamal (#12) and hope to secure a win. Al Shorta - Nift Al-Shamal 105-85 Very predictable result in Baghdad where third ranked Al Shorta (13-6) smashed bottom-ranked Nift Al-Shamal (2-18) 105-85 on Saturday. Al Shorta have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-6 record having ten points less than leader Al Naft. Loser Nift Al-Shamal stay dead last with 18 lost games. Al Shorta's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Baghdad Al Kahraba. Al Naft - Nift Al-Basra 77-64 Superleague top team - Al Naft (21-0) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Nift Al-Basra (9-7) in Baghdad 77-64. Al Naft have an impressive 21-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 21-0 record. Nift Al-Basra at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Al Naft are looking forward to face league's second-placed Al-Jameaa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nift Al-Basra will play against Nift Al-Shamal (#12) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident. |
