Superleague Round 9: Al-Hashd lose to Nift Al-Basra in the game between Top 4 teams- November 20, 2021
Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Al Hilla - Nift Al-Shamal 81-75 Very expected game when 13th ranked Nift Al-Shamal (1-7) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Al Hilla (4-2) 81-75. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Al Hilla moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al-Jameaa. Nift Al-Shamal at the other side stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Al Hilla will play against Zakho (#6) at home in the next round. Nift Al-Shamal will have a break next round. Al Kahraba - Al-Jameaa 61-73 Very predictable result in Baghdad where fourth ranked Al-Jameaa (4-2) defeated 9th ranked Al Kahraba (2-4) 73-61. Al-Jameaa maintains fourth place with 4-2 record, which they share with Al Hilla. Al Kahraba at the other side keeps the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Al Shorta and Al-Semawah. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest. Nift Al-Basra - Al-Hashd 77-73 The game between Top Four teams took place in Basra. Third ranked host Nift Al-Basra (5-1) defeated second-best Al-Hashd (5-2) 77-73. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Al-Hashd. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Nift Al-Basra moved-up to second place. Al-Hashd at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest. Al Shorta - Al Naft 67-84 Superleague top team - Al Naft (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat ninth ranked Al Shorta (2-4) in Baghdad 84-67. Al Naft have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 6-0 record. Al Shorta at the other side keeps the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Al Kahraba and Al-Semawah. Al Naft will play against Al-Tadamoun (#7) in Najef in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Al Shorta will play against Al-Semawah and it may be a tough game between close rivals. |
