Superleague Round 1: Al Hilla lose to Al-Semawah

The Regular Season in Superleague just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game of round 1 took place in where Al-Semawah edged Al Hilla 91-89 on Thursday night. Al Hilla will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest. Al-Semawah will try to continue on its current victory against Al Kahraba in Baghdad.
Al-Khtot recorded a loss in Baghdad. Hosts were defeated by Ghaz Al-Shamal 57-51. Ghaz Al-Shamal will play against Al Naft in Baghdad in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Al-Khtot will play against Al-Jameaa to get more than just one victory in their record.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Baghdad: Al Naft and Al Kahraba. Al Naft crushed visiting Al Kahraba by 26 points 73-47. Al Naft will meet Ghaz Al-Shamal in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Al Kahraba will play against Al-Semawah and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 1: Al-Hashd lost to Al-Jameaa on the opponent's court 74-79. Bottom-ranked Zakho managed to outperform Al-Tadamoun in a home game 82-71. Nift Al-Basra rolled over Nift Al-Shamal on the road 92-59. Winless Nift Al-Shamal was crushed by Al-Tadamoun on its own court 77-100. Nift Al-Basra beat Ghaz Al-Shamal in a road game 84-66.

Al-Khtot - Ghaz Al-Shamal 51-57

Al-Khtot recorded a loss in Baghdad. Hosts were defeated by Ghaz Al-Shamal 57-51. Ghaz Al-Shamal will play against Al Naft in Baghdad in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Al-Khtot will play against Al-Jameaa to get more than just one victory in their record.

Al-Semawah - Al Hilla 91-89

Al-Jameaa used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Baghdad 79-74 on Thursday night. Al-Jameaa will meet Al-Khtot in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al-Hashd will play against Nift Al-Shamal in Kirkuk and hope to win that game.

Zakho - Al-Tadamoun 82-71

There was a surprise result when Zakho defeated at home Al-Tadamoun 82-71 on Friday. Zakho will meet at home Nift Al-Basra in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al-Tadamoun will play against Ghaz Al-Shamal in Kirku and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Nift Al-Shamal - Nift Al-Basra 59-92

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Nift Al-Shamal's home loss to Nift Al-Basra 59-92 on Friday. Nift Al-Basra will meet Zakho on the road in the next round. Nift Al-Shamal will play against Al-Hashd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Al Naft - Al Kahraba 73-47

Ghaz Al-Shamal - Nift Al-Basra 66-84

But Ghaz Al-Shamal was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Basra 84-66 on Saturday night. Nift Al-Basra will meet Zakho on the road in the next round. Ghaz Al-Shamal will play against Al Naft and hope to win that game.
