Iraqi Superleague round 24 best performance: Ali Fadhil

Center Ali Fadhil (202-C-99) had a great game in the last round for Ghaz Al-Shamal, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 21-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Al-Tadamoun (#7, 5-9) 82-75. Ghaz Al-Shamal maintains the 10th position in Iraqi Superleague. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 12 games and recorded just four victories. Fadhil turned to be Ghaz Al-Shamal's top player in his first season with the team. Ali Fadhil averages this season 12.9ppg and 7.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 33-year old Ala'A Abed (195-F-87) of Al Hilla. Abed had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Al Hilla lost that game 83-89 to the higher-ranked Nift Al-Shamal (#8, 5-10). Al Hilla are still at the very bottom. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Al Hilla managed to get this year. Abed is one of the most experienced players at Al Hilla and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Hussein Al-Murshedi of Al-Tadamoun (#7). Al-Murshedi showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the last round. Despite Al-Murshedi's great performance Al-Tadamoun lost 75-82 to the lower-ranked Ghaz Al-Shamal (#10, 4-12). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Al-Tadamoun not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Al-Murshedi could try to bring Al-Tadamoun's a little bit higher in the standings. Al-Murshedi has a very solid season. In 13 games in Iraq he scored 6.8ppg.
