Burns' double-double lands him Player of the Week award

25-year old guard Glen Burns (190-G-95, agency: Interperformances) had a very impressive game in the last round for Al-Khtot and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
He had a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, while his team outclassed Al Hilla (#12, 1-10) with 30-point margin 85-55. Al-Khtot is placed at 5th position in Iraqi league. Al-Khtot is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-9 record. Burns turned to be Al-Khtot's top player in his first season with the team. Chicago State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Burns is in league's top in points (4th best: 21.8ppg).

Second best performed player last round was Hamzah Abs. He is a in his first season at Al-Khtot. In the last game Abs recorded impressive 15 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. It was enough for Al-Khtot to edge slightly lower-ranked Al-Tadamoun (#6, 5-5) by 1 point 60-59. This victory allowed Al-Khtot to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-9 record. Abs is a newcomer at Al-Khtot and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to Hussein Al-Mahmood of Al-Tadamoun (#6). Al-Mahmood scored 17 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Al-Mahmood's great performance Al-Tadamoun lost 59-60 to slightly higher-ranked Al-Khtot (#5, 6-9). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Al-Tadamoun needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Al-Mahmood has a very solid season. In 10 games in Iraq he scored 6.3ppg.
