Nift Al-Shamal - Nift Al-Basra 54-98 The game between 9th ranked Nift Al-Shamal (2-7) and sixth ranked Nift Al-Basra (4-4) in Kirkuk on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Basra outscored Nift Al-Shamal 98-54. Nift Al-Basra forced 21 Nift Al-Shamal turnovers and outrebounded them 47-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Nift Al-Shamal's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Demarius Bolds (193-84, college: MWSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Diyar Abdul-Allah contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Bolds is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Jasim Dheyaa Mahdi (191-92) answered with 11 points and 7 rebounds and guard Bahaa Sabri (170-95) added 8 points in the effort for Nift Al-Shamal. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nift Al-Basra moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Al-Khtot. Newly promoted Nift Al-Shamal keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
