Al Shurtah Police (Superleague) landed 31-year old American guard Nick Okorie (185-88kg-88, college: Texas Tech). He joins another USA player Joshua Turner who is already in the roster. Okorie started the season at Ashab Aljead in Egyptian Superleague. Last summer Okorie played at UniFacisa (Liga Ouro) in Brazilian league where in 18 games he averaged impressive 16.6ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.7apg, and 1.2spg. He helped them to win the league title. Good season as he was selected League Player of the Week. Among many awards, Okorie received Latinbasket.com All-Liga Ouro 2nd Team award in 2019. He is a very experienced player. And thanks to pro basketball Okorie experienced life in six different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Okorie has played previously professionally in Austria (Raiffeisen Flyers Wels), Canada (The Storm, Power, London Lightning, and River Lions), Denmark (Aalborg), Finland (Vilpas), Germany (Saar Pfalz Braves) and Brazil (CR Vasco Da Gama Rio de Janeiro and Universo/Vitoria). He attended Texas Tech University until 2010 and it is his tenth season in pro basketball. Let's have a closer look into Okorie's outlook: Can play in both guard positions, thanks to solid body, good court vision, and passing skills. He's a good scorer outside and inside. Also, he's a tough defender who can get lots of steals. Very quick. Can run on the basket against taller players. By Eurobasket Data Center |
