Stubbs' double-double lands him Interperformances Player of the Week award

28-year old point guard Jeffery Stubbs (189-PG-91) put on an amazing game in the last round for Al Mina and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 7.
He had a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Duhok (#2, 6-2) 85-79. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Al Mina maintains the 4th position in Iraqi league. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Al Mina will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. Stubbs turned to be Al Mina's top player in his first season with the team. Jackson State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Stubbs is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.8ppg) and assists (4th best: 5.8apg).

Second best performed player last round was Rashad Woods (197-G/F-86) of Al Shurtah. He is American swingman in his first season at Al Shurtah. In the last game Woods recorded impressive 37 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Al Shurtah to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Al Kahraba (#11, 1-6) 86-61. Al Shurtah's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 5-2 record is not bad at all. Woods is a newcomer at Al Shurtah and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Ali Ismael (199-F-94) of league's leader Al Naft. Ismael scored 26 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of Al Naft, leading his team to a 94-84 win against the lower-ranked Zakho (#7, 3-5). Al Naft started extremely well this year. They recorded 6 victories without losing a single game. Ismael turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Ismael has a very solid season. In 2 games in Iraq he scored 17.5ppg.
