Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Undefeated leader Al Karkh delivered the tenth consecutive victory on Tuesday night. This time they crushed 11th ranked AL-Adhamiya (1-9) 99-75. Undefeated Al Karkh (10-0) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. AL-Adhamiya lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Al Karkh will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. AL-Adhamiya will play on the road against Al Hilla (#6) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Baghdad, where higher ranked Al Mina (3-6) lost to tenth ranked Al-Khtot Al-Jawiya (2-7) in a road game 71-75. Al-Khtot Al-Jawiya moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Al-Tadamoun and Zakho. Al Mina at the other side dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Al-Khtot Al-Jawiya will play against Al-Tadamoun (#9) in Najef in the next round. Al Mina will play at home against Al Kahraba and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Al Naft - Al Hilla 97-49

There was no surprise in Baghdad where 6th ranked Al Mina (3-6) was defeated by second ranked Al Shurtah (8-1) 75-66 on Monday. Al Shurtah maintains second position with 8-1 record having just three points less than leader Al Karkh. Loser Al Mina dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. Al Shurtah will meet at home Nift Al-Janoub (#5) in the next round. Al Mina will play against Al Kahraba and hope to secure a win.

Al-Khtot Al-Jawiya - Al Mina 75-71

No shocking result in a game in Basra where fifth ranked Nift Al-Janoub (6-3) defeated 8th ranked Al-Tadamoun (2-7) 80-69 on Thursday. Nift Al-Janoub have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al Kahraba. Loser Al-Tadamoun keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Zakho and Al-Khtot Al-Jawiya. Nift Al-Janoub will meet league's second-placed Al Shurtah in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Al-Tadamoun will play against Al-Khtot Al-Jawiya (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Defending champion Ahli Shabab Dubai (D1) added to their roster 33-year old American (has also Iraqi passport) forward Sammy Monroe (198-85, college: Newberry). He played recently at Homentmen in Lebanese LBL league. He helped them to make it to the Supercup final. The last season Monroe played at Al Gharafa in D1 where in 18 games he had very impressive stats: 20.3ppg, 10.1rpg, 5.8apg (top 4) and 1.8spg. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Baghdad: Al Shurtah (#2) and Al Kahraba (#4). Al Kahraba was defeated at home 78-92 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Al Shurtah have a solid series of four victories in a row. GABE FREEMAN Al Karkh (IBL) added to their roster 33-year old American forward Gabe Freeman (198-85). He joins another USA player Qiydar Davis which is already in the roster. Freeman just played at Halifax Hurricanes in Canadian NBL. In 13 NBL Canada games he recorded stats: 15.4ppg, 8.2rpg, 1.9apg and 1.0spg this season.
