Al Naft conquer the League title-May 24, 2023
Al Naft are 22/23 League champions. They overcame Al Shortah 83-73 tonight to conquer the trophy. Edgar Sosa (190-F-1988, college: Louisville) posted 33 points to lead the winners. Al Naft grabbed a 20-16 lead after ten minutes. They maintained the lead throughout the second frame. Al Naft accumulated a 45-39 halftime lead. They arrived at the final intermission up by four points 63-59. Edgar Sosa and Antwaine Wiggins (203-F-1988, college: Charleston) gave Al Naft a 71-64 lead midway through the fourth frame. The margin grew at 10-point mark soon and Al Naft rallied to a key victory at the end. Antwaine Wiggins posted 27 points in the victory. A.J. English (192-G-1992, college: Iona, agency: Interperformances) answered with 23 points for Al Shortah.
