Superleague Round 21 (Regular Season): Esteghlal keep a leadership position

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Esteghlal as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Esteghlal edged 4th placed Tabiat in Qeshm 77-74. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Tabiat. Esteghlal (17-3) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Tabiat at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Tabiat will play next round against Raad Padafan trying to get back on the winning streak. Esteghlal will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Golnoor on the road.
The game in was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked Golnoor (11-10) played at the court of seventh ranked Naft Zagros (11-9). Naft Zagros did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 80-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Golnoor. Naft Zagros moved-up to sixth place. Golnoor at the other side dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Naft Zagros will play against higher ranked Kalleh (#3) in Amol in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Golnoor will play at home against the league's leader Esteghlal (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in between Alborz and Raad Padafan. Eleventh ranked Alborz (4-17) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Raad Padafan (5-15). Alborz managed to escape with a 1-point win 85-84 on Monday evening. Alborz moved-up to tenth place. Raad Padafan lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. Alborz will meet at home Mahshahr (#11) in the next round. Raad Padafan will play against Tabiat and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 21 Naft Abadan defeated Mahshahr in a road game 76-61.

Mahshahr lost their fourteenth game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Naft Abadan will meet at home Pas Kordestan (#8) in the next round. Mahshahr will play against Alborz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Raad Padafan - Alborz 84-85
