Iran opened win count in the World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers Group C. They cruised past Iraq in the opener. Sina Vahedi (190-G-2001) scored 21 points to lead the winners. Behnam Yakhchali (196-SG-1995) tossed in 19 points.
Iran went on a 25-8 run in the second frame to secure a 49-27 halftime lead. Iran stayed red hot offensively throughout the second half. They dropped 27 points in the third term to pile up a 30-point lead and never looked back en route to the victory. Ramon Galloway (190-G-1991, college: La Salle) posted 20 points, while Abdullah Alibraheemi (205-C-2003) had 12 points in the defeat.
