Superleague Round 6 (Regular Season): Gorgan defeat Naft Abadan in the closest game of the week

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Superleague. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Superleague took place in Gorgan. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Naft Abadan (2-4) to second ranked Gorgan (5-1) 72-69 on Monday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Gorgan have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Esteghlal. Naft Abadan at the other side dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. They share the position with Alborz and Raad Padafan. Gorgan are looking forward to face Alborz (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Naft Abadan will play against Tabiat and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Golnoor has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Raad Padafan (2-4) 76-70. Golnoor (1-5) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. It was Raad Padafan's third loss in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Alborz and Naft Abadan. Golnoor will play against higher ranked Mahshahr (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Raad Padafan will play against Kalleh where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
Superleague top team - Esteghlal (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Mahshahr (3-3) in Qeshm 79-50. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mahshahr. Undefeated Esteghlal have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Loser Mahshahr keeps the sixth place with three games lost. Esteghlal will meet Pas Kordestan (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Mahshahr will play against Golnoor and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 6: Tabiat won against Shahrod on the opponent's court 90-81. Naft Zagros outscored Pas Kordestan in a home game 80-44. Alborz recorded a loss to Kalleh on the road 83-76.

Shahrod will play against Naft Zagros and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Naft Zagros - Pas Kordestan 80-44

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Naft Zagros (4-2) smashed at home 7th ranked Pas Kordestan (2-3) 80-44 on Monday. Naft Zagros moved-up to third place, which they share with Kalleh and Tabiat. Pas Kordestan lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with three games lost. Naft Zagros will meet bottom-ranked Shahrod (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pas Kordestan will play against the league's leader Esteghlal (#1) and hope to secure a win.

Esteghlal - Mahshahr 79-50

Superleague top team - Esteghlal (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Mahshahr (3-3) in Qeshm 79-50. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mahshahr. Esteghlal have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record.
