Petty comes back to Gorgan

Parrish Petty

Defending champion Shahrdari Gorgan (Superleague) added to their roster experienced 37-year old American (has also Bissau-Guinean passport) point guard Parrish Petty (185cm-86kg-1988, college: UTRGV) for season 2025-26. Petty joins another USA player Jordan Hamilton who is already in the roster.
It is actually his comeback to Gorgan as he has played here before. He played most recently at Tabiat in the D2. In 11 West Asia Super League games he recorded 9.5ppg, 2.7rpg, 3.7apg and 1.5spg last season. Petty helped them to make it to the West Asia Super League Final 8 final after they ended regular season as second best team.

The previous (2024) summer he played at City Oilers in Ugandan NBL. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 5 Ugandan NBL games he averaged impressive 18.6ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.2apg and 2.6spg in 2024 year. He contributed to his team winning the Ugandan NBL title. Petty also played 5 games in Basketball Africa League where he had very remarkable stats: 22.2ppg, 8.0rpg, 4.6apg and 1.6spg in 2024 year.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America) in thirteen different countries. Petty has played previously professionally in Belarus (BC Minsk), France (Sluc Nancy), Greece (Apollon Patras and Ifaistos), Hungary (Kormend and Szolnok), Italy (RO Virtus and Pesaro), Lebanon (Moutahed), Lithuania (Dzukija), Romania (Giurgiu), Slovakia (Zilina), Venezuela (Trotamundos), PBA (Cent.Illinois D.) and Libya (Ahly Benghazi).
He is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at Gorgan.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
He graduated from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2011 and it will be his 15th (!!!) season as a professional player. he selected toAsia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Player of the Year in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Petty played for other colleges like: Santa Clara University, Allen County Community College.
