Smith is back at Nardo, ex Tabiat

HDL Nardo (Serie A2) signed 33-year old American point guard Russ Smith (183cm-75kg-1991, college: Louisville). It is actually his comeback to Nardo as he has played here before. He started the season at Tabiat in Iranian Superleague. The last season season he played at HDL Nardo in Italian Serie A2 where in 36 games he was league's fourth best scorer with impressive 19.5ppg and averaged 3.8rpg, 3.6apg and 1.2spg. 2023-24 was a great season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie A2 Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week.
In 2014 he was drafted by Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) in second round (47th overall). He graduated from University of Louisville and it is his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Smith is quite experienced player. He has played in eight different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Smith has played previously professionally in China (Blue Whales, Sturgeons, Guizhou and Hainan Haixiang), Israel (Hapoel Beer Sheva), Puerto Rico (Cariduros), Turkey (Galatasaray), NBA (Memphis Grizzlies), NBA G League (Indiana Mad Ants, Iowa Wolves and Delaware Blue Coats) and The Basketball Tournament (The Ville).
Among many awards he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie A2 Guard of the Year in 2023.
