Superleague Round 16 (Regular Season): Tabiat lose their first game against Zob Ahan

The most surprising game was the first loss of Tabiat (13-1) in Esfahan on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Zob Ahan (8-7) 84-75. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Tabiat. Zob Ahan have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Alborz. Defending champion Tabiat still keeps top position with one game lost. Zob Ahan is looking forward to face Foolad (#9) in Bandar Abbass in the next round. Tabiat will play at home against Alborz (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Abadan. Third ranked host Naft Abadan (11-4) defeated one of their biggest challengers Gorgan (10-5) 79-70. Naft Abadan maintains third position with 11-4 record having just one point less than leader Tabiat. Gorgan at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Naft Abadan will play against Ishafan (#5) in the next round. Gorgan will play against Shahrod and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Sixth ranked Alborz (8-7) crushed at home 12th ranked Raad (2-14) by 30 points 99-69, which is the biggest margin this round on Monday night. Newly promoted Alborz maintains sixth position with 8-7 record, which they share with Zob Ahan. Raad lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Alborz will meet league's leader Tabiat in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Raad will play against Mahshahr (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 16 Kalleh destroyed Mahshahr on the opponent's court 99-72. Ayandeh Sazan unfortunately lost to Ishafan in a home game 77-82.



Mahshahr - Kalleh 72-99

Very expected game when 10th ranked Mahshahr (3-11) was crushed at home by second ranked Kalleh (12-4) 99-72 on Monday. Newly promoted Kalleh maintains second position with 12-4 record behind leader Tabiat. Mahshahr lost eighth consecutive game. Mahshahr at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. Kalleh will meet at home Ayandeh Sazan (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mahshahr will play against Raad in Mashhad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Zob Ahan - Tabiat 84-75

Ayandeh Sazan at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Ishafan will meet at home higher ranked Naft Abadan (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ayandeh Sazan will play against the league's second-placed Kalleh (#2) in Amol and hope to secure a win.

Alborz - Raad 99-69

Sixth ranked Alborz (8-7) crushed at home 12th ranked Raad (2-14) by 30 points 99-69, which is the biggest margin this round on Monday night.
