Superleague Round 12 (Regular Season): Naft Abadan is defeated by Kalleh

The most important game in the last round took place in Abadan between second ranked Naft Abadan (9-3) and fourth ranked Kalleh (9-3) on Monday night. Naft Abadan was defeated by Kalleh in a tough game at home 74-82. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Naft Abadan. Kalleh moved-up to second place, which they share with Gorgan and Naft Abadan. Kalleh is looking forward to face Shahrod (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Naft Abadan will play against Raad (#12) in Mashhad and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Ayandeh Sazan managed to get a second victory, breaking the three-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Ayandeh Sazan edged seventh-ranked Shahrod 58-55. Ayandeh Sazan (2-10) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Raad. Shahrod at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Ayandeh Sazan will play against higher ranked Zob Ahan (#8) in Esfahan in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shahrod will play on the road against the league's second-placed Kalleh where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
The game in Alborz was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Ishafan (7-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Alborz (5-6). Ishafan managed to secure a 6-point victory 81-75 on Monday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Alborz. Ishafan have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Ishafan maintains fifth position with 7-4 record. Alborz at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Ishafan will meet at home Foolad (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Alborz will play against Mahshahr (#9) and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 12 Mahshahr lost to Zob Ahan on the opponent's court 65-68. Gorgan outscored Raad in a home game 99-47.



Shahrod - Ayandeh Sazan 55-58

Bottom-ranked Ayandeh Sazan managed to get a second victory, breaking the three-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Ayandeh Sazan edged seventh-ranked Shahrod 58-55. Zob Ahan - Mahshahr 68-65

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Esfahan where 8th ranked Mahshahr (3-7) was edged by ninth ranked Zob Ahan (4-7) 68-65 on Monday. Zob Ahan moved-up to eighth place. Mahshahr lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Zob Ahan will meet Ayandeh Sazan (#11) in the next round. Mahshahr will play against Alborz and hope to secure a win.

Naft Abadan - Kalleh 74-82

Very predictable result when third ranked Gorgan (9-3) smashed at home bottom-ranked Raad (2-10) 99-47 on Monday. Gorgan have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kalleh and Naft Abadan. Raad lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. They share it with Ayandeh Sazan. Gorgan will meet league's leader Tabiat in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Raad will play against Naft Abadan (#4) and hope to secure a win.

Alborz - Ishafan 75-81

The game in Alborz was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Ishafan (7-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Alborz (5-6). Ishafan managed to secure a 6-point victory 81-75 on Monday.
