Superleague Round 8 of Regular Season

The most interesting game of round 8 was a home defeat of 6th ranked Shahrod (3-5) by fifth ranked Ishafan (4-4) who outscored them by 15 points 77-62. Newly promoted Ishafan maintains fifth position with 4-4 record. Shahrod lost fifth consecutive game. Shahrod at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Ishafan are looking forward to face Raad (#11) in Mashhad in the next round where they are favorite. Shahrod will play at home against Zob Ahan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Esfahan. Third ranked Naft Abadan (6-2) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Zob Ahan (2-4) 69-68 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Naft Abadan have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader Tabiat. Zob Ahan at the other side dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. Naft Abadan will play against Alborz (#7) at home in the next round. Zob Ahan will play against Shahrod and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Superleague top team - Tabiat (8-0) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Ayandeh Sazan (0-7) in Tehran 81-77. Undefeated Tabiat have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record. Newly promoted Ayandeh Sazan still closes the standings with seven games lost. Tabiat will meet at home league's second-placed Kalleh in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ayandeh Sazan will play against Foolad (#10) in Bandar Abbass and hopes to get finally their first victory.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 8: Raad was destroyed by Kalleh on the opponent's court 98-67. Mahshahr managed to outperform Foolad in a home game 105-103. Gorgan recorded a loss to Alborz on the road 85-77.

Mahshahr - Foolad 105-103

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Mahshahr (3-3) edged at home 10th ranked Foolad (2-6) 105-103 on Thursday. Mahshahr moved-up to sixth place. Foolad lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with Raad. Mahshahr will meet higher ranked Gorgan (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Foolad will play against Ayandeh Sazan (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Alborz - Gorgan 85-77

There was an upset when higher ranked Gorgan (5-3) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Alborz (3-4) 85-77 on Thursday. Alborz moved-up to seventh place. Loser Gorgan keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Alborz will meet higher ranked Naft Abadan (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gorgan will play against Mahshahr and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Ayandeh Sazan - Tabiat 77-81
