Superleague Round 6 of Regular Season

The most interesting game of round 6 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Shahrod (3-3) to third ranked Gorgan (4-2) 73-62. Gorgan maintains third position with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader Tabiat, which they share with Naft Abadan. Shahrod lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Ishafan. Gorgan is looking forward to face Zob Ahan (#8) in Esfahan in the next round where they are favorite. Shahrod will play on the road against Naft Abadan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Superleague top team - Tabiat (6-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat tenth ranked Alborz (1-4) 88-80. Undefeated Tabiat have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. Alborz lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with four games lost. Tabiat will play against Mahshahr (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Alborz will play against Foolad in Bandar Abbass and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Ayandeh Sazan (0-5) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to second ranked Kalleh (5-1) 87-70 on Thursday evening. Kalleh have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Kalleh maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Tabiat. Ayandeh Sazan at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with five games lost. Kalleh will meet Ishafan (#5) in the next round. Ayandeh Sazan will play against Raad (#11) in Mashhad and hopes to get finally their first victory.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 6: Ishafan was destroyed by Naft Abadan on the opponent's court 97-63. Mahshahr managed to outperform Raad in a home game 76-70. Foolad recorded a loss to Zob Ahan on the road 86-84.

They moved-up to third place, which they share with Gorgan. Newly promoted Ishafan dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Shahrod. Naft Abadan will meet at home Shahrod (#6) in the next round. Ishafan will play against the league's second-placed Kalleh and hope to secure a win.

Shahrod - Gorgan 62-73

Loser Raad keeps the eleventh position with five games lost. Mahshahr will meet league's leader Tabiat in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Raad will play against Ayandeh Sazan (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Zob Ahan - Foolad 86-84

There was a minor upset in Esfahan where 7th ranked Foolad (2-4) was edged by ninth ranked Zob Ahan (2-2) 86-84 on Thursday. Zob Ahan moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Mahshahr. Loser Foolad dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Zob Ahan will meet higher ranked Gorgan (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Foolad will play against Alborz (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
