Stevens' 29 points and 6 assists give him Player of the Week award

29-year old American point guard Jordan Stevens (182-PG-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for Tabiat and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
He had the game-high 29 points adding four rebounds and six assists for Tabiat in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Raad (#12, 1-15) with 39-point margin 94-55. Tabiat is placed at 4th position in Iranian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tabiat will need more victories to improve their 10-6 record. In the team's last game Stevens had a remarkable 90.9% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Tabiat's top player in his first season with the team. Midwestern State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Stevens is league's best scorer averaging so far 31.4ppg. Stevens is in league's top in assists (9th best: 3.8apg) and averages solid 58.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Arsalan Kazemi (200-SF-1990, agency: BIG) of top-ranked Shahrdari Gorgan. He is international in his first season at Gorgan. In the last game Kazemi recorded an impressive double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Gorgan to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Mahram (#3, 10-6) 100-78. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Gorgan consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team belongs to top of the standings with 15-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Kazemi is a newcomer at Gorgan and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to another Gorgan's star - guard Sina Vahedi (185-PG-2001). Vahedi scored 26 points. He was another key player of Shahrdari Gorgan, helping his team with a 100-78 easy win against #3 ranked Mahram. Many experts and fans count Gorgan as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 15 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Vahedi has a great season in Iran. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.8apg (8th best). He also has 2.1spg, a FGP of 70.1% and 3PT: 50.0%.
