Superleague Round 7 (Second Stage): Kalleh defeat Naft Abadan in the closest game of the week

The Second Stage in Superleague just ended. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Superleague took place in Abadan. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed Naft Abadan (1-5) to second ranked Kalleh (3-3) 88-85 on Thursday evening. Newly promoted Kalleh maintains second place with 3-3 record having just three points less than leader Rafsanjan, which they share with Mahram. Naft Abadan lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Parsa.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Esfahan. 3rd placed host Zob Ahan (2-4) lost to leader Gorgan (6-0) 65-53. Undefeated Gorgan have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 6-0 record. Zob Ahan at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Raad.
The game in Mashhad was also quite interesting. Seventh ranked Mahram (3-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Parsa (1-5). Mahram managed to secure a 5-point victory 86-81 on Thursday. Mahram moved-up to second place, which they share with Kalleh. Parsa lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Naft Abadan.

In the last game of round 7 Kerman lost to Arak on the opponent's court 56-61.



Naft Abadan - Kalleh 85-88

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Kerman (4-2) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Arak (4-2) 61-56 on Thursday. The victory was the third consecutive win for Arak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Kerman.
