Superleague Round 15: Naft Abadan defeat Kalleh in the closest game of the week

The most exciting game of round 15 in the Superleague took place in Abadan. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best Kalleh (11-4) to fourth ranked Naft Abadan (9-5) 94-91 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kalleh. Naft Abadan maintains fourth place with 9-5 record. Newly promoted Kalleh keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Zob Ahan. Naft Abadan are looking forward to face Parsa (#6) in Mashhad in the next round. Kalleh will play on the road against Raad (#12) in Mashhad and is hoping to win this game.
Superleague top team - Gorgan (13-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Mahram (8-6) in Tehran 92-88. Gorgan have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-2 record. Mahram lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. Gorgan will play against Kerman (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mahram will play against Azarshahr and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Kerman was also quite interesting. Third ranked Zob Ahan (11-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Kerman (7-8). Zob Ahan defeated Kerman 63-51 on Monday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kerman. Zob Ahan have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kalleh. Kerman at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Zob Ahan will meet at home Sanaye (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kerman will play against the league's leader Gorgan and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 15: bottom-ranked Raad lost to Arak on the opponent's court 69-86. Sanaye managed to outperform Rafsanjan in a home game 71-63. Parsa managed to beat Azarshahr on the road 81-64.

Kerman - Zob Ahan 51-63

The game in Kerman was also quite interesting. Third ranked Zob Ahan (11-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Kerman (7-8). Zob Ahan defeated Kerman 63-51 on Monday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kerman. Zob Ahan have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kalleh. Arak - Raad 86-69

Very expected game when 12th ranked Raad (2-13) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Arak (6-7) 86-69 on Monday. Newly promoted Arak maintains eighth place with 6-7 record, which they share with Sanaye. Raad lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Arak will meet Rafsanjan (#10) on the road in the next round. Raad will play against the league's second-placed Kalleh where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

Naft Abadan - Kalleh 94-91

Azarshahr - Parsa 64-81

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Azarshahr (2-12) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Parsa (7-7) 81-64 on Monday. Parsa moved-up to sixth place. Azarshahr lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Parsa will meet at home higher ranked Naft Abadan (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Azarshahr will play against Mahram (#5) and hope to secure a win.

Mahram - Gorgan 88-92
